IMAGINING MUSICALS. SOME OF THE BEST-LOVED MUSICALS REVIVED AND RETOLD. AND BOND 25 WITH THE ROYAL PHILARMONIC ORCHESTRA

This display celebrates the glittering world of musical theatre, exploring the evolution and craftmanship of iconic musicals, from Miss Saigon and My Fair Lady to modern classics SIX the Musical, and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Previously unseen items from the V&A’s theatre and performance collections will be displayed as part of a new musical theatre exhibition. 

Re:Imagining Musicals will open at the museum on October 15 and will celebrate the glittering world of musical theatre, exploring the cultural significance of some of the industry’s “most iconic stories”. 

The exhibition will bring together the extensive Overtures (Bunnett-Muir) collections with other brand-new acquisitions and previously unseen classics from the V&A’s extensive theatre and performance collections, this free display will celebrate the rich lineage and astounding craftsmanship behind some of the best-loved musicals.

A new album of themes by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is out on Friday

Bond 25 is an album of all 25 Bond themes throughout the decades, expertly reimagined for the first time and performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

It celebrates all 25 iconic films in the Bond franchise. The album includes a brand new orchestral arrangement of Hans Zimmer and Billie Eilish’s No.1 single ‘No Time To Die (Theme)’.

The album, recorded in 2019 by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, includes brand new arrangements of the 25 iconic title themes including From Russia With Love, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, GoldenEye and Die Another Day, ETC.
