WAYS TO EXPERIENCE OPENING NIGHT AT THE OPERA HOUSE

The Met season opens Monday, September 21, with Bartlett Sher’s new production of Verdi’sOtello, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and starring Aleksandrs Antonenko, Sonya Yoncheva, and Željko Lučić. For the first time, the popular Rush Ticket program has been expanded to include the Opening Night Gala. One hundred orchestra tickets will be available at the drastically reduced price of $25. 
In Times Square
Continuing the Met’s annual tradition, Opening Night will be transmitted live and for free to multiple giant screens in Times Square. This year, 500 extra seats will be added for a total capacity of 2,000, available on a first come, first served basis, with additional standing room provided.


On the Air
The Opening Night Gala will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on
SiriusXM and streamed live on the Met’s website.
