Italian fashion house
Brioni tapped the actor for its new campaign.
BY CHRISTINE FLAMMIA
Sir Anthony Hopkins is an
incredibly entertaining individual. From his nightmarishly creepy stares in the
comedy version of Silence of the Lambs, to watching some stuff go
"boom" in the Transformers trailer, the screen legend knows how to
capture an audience. And this fall, he's capturing his fans in a new way: as
the face of Italian fashion brand Brioni, in its fall/winter ad campaign.
Both Hopkins and Brioni are
established cultural staples, albeit in different areas. But together, they
create a type of nostalgic, old-school vibe. Of course, that might have
something to do with all the photos being shot in black and white. Either way,
it adds to the feeling of no-b.s., classically good style.
The Italian brand is known
for its timeless eye for design, focusing on great suits, tailored jackets, and
unrivaled tailoring. Hopkins is wearing just that in this campaign too; he's
styled in topcoats, a double-breasted jacket, and a fashion scarf. Long live
Sir Anthony Hopkins.
