GUASTAVINO, UN VALENCIANO EN NUEVA YORK.

Join Andrew Dolkart, Professor of Historic Preservation at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, for a walking tour of key Guastavino works—all of which happen to be religious buildings—in uptown Manhattan, starting at the Holy Trinity Church on West 82nd Street, then traveling a few subways stops up to Morningside Heights to visit the magnificent Guastavino-tiled vaults of Saint John the Divine, Riverside Church, St. Paul’s Chapel, and the Union Theological Seminary.

A walking tour of the major Guastavino sites in Midtown Manhattan along the 42nd street corridor with New York historian John Tauranac. Stops will include Wolfgang’s Steakhouse (the former Vanderbilt Hotel), the Pershing Square Building, and the Grand Central Lower Concourse and Oyster Bar. The tour concludes with a wine and tapas tasting in the newly-restored Oyster Bar Lounge.
Presented in conjunction with Palaces for the People.
